2024 UVA Controversies in Liver Disease & Transplantation

1. Identify the safety net system for patients with CKD who do not meet criteria for SLK at the time of transplant and alternative options.
2. Describe the importance of early screening and management for patients with alcohol associated liver disease.
3. Identify the new advances in machine perfusion and how to increase utilization of marginal organs for transplant.
4. Understand the indications for the use of GLP1As and bariatric surgery for patients with MASLD.
5. Describe best practice management strategies for AKI in cirrhosis

Cancellation requests received in writing no less than 30 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. As a Jointly Accredited Organization, The University of Virginia School of Medicine and School of Nursing is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this course receive 6 general continuing education credits.

The conference will take place at the Kimpton Forum, Charlottesville, VA for a rate of $349/night on a first come, first serve basis.

We would be pleased to have your organization support this conference through an on-site exhibit.  The exhibit fee is $2000 which includes a 6 ft. exhibit table in the pre-function area, registration for up to two representatives, as well as meals and breaks with Liver Disease and Transplantation presenters and attendees.


Total Number of Expected Audience:  75 (MD, PA, NP, RN, Dieticians, Social Workers, Fellows, Residents)
Exhibitors will also be invited to our opening reception on Friday, September 27th in the Grove Ballroom at 5:30pm
