The McLemore Birdsong Pediatric Conference offers three-half days of content on a variety of case-based, clinical practice-oriented lectures covering abroad range of topics relevant to physicians, advanced practice providers, and nurses in pediatric and family practice settings.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe trends in adolescent mental health and evidence-based strategies for addressing mental health concerns in younger patients.
  2. Discuss updates in current topics in pediatric infectious diseases, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pulmonology, gastroenterology, and endocrinology.
  3. Apply best practices for providing substance abuse counseling and treatment for pediatric patients.
  4. Recognize signs of human trafficking of pediatric patients.
  5. Describe current trends in patient incivility that may disrupt pediatric practice and strategies to reduce risk.
  6. Make the diagnosis of autism as a PCP and participate in the educational and medication management of these children.
