2025 Cardiovascular Disease in Women

This educational program addresses critical gaps in clinician awareness and training regarding sex-specific differences in cardiovascular disease, such as SCAD, CMD, and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. It aims to improve the application of guideline-directed therapies and increase the representation of women in cardiovascular clinical trials, thus enhancing evidence-based care. The program provides education on emerging diagnostic tools, risk stratification, and management strategies tailored to women's cardiovascular health. It also highlights systemic barriers and advocates for multidisciplinary care models to optimize outcomes. The activity is designed to enhance clinicians' understanding of sex-specific cardiovascular pathophysiology, improve their use of contemporary risk assessment tools, and encourage team-based care strategies. Additionally, it promotes increased participation of women in cardiovascular research.

1. Recognize the unique cardiovascular challenges faced by women across different life stages, from pregnancy to advanced age.
2. Analyze sex-specific differences in IHD pathophysiology and diagnostic testing, highlighting its unique phenotypes and conditions more commonly seen in women.
3. Evaluate the significance of gender-specific considerations in the management of valvular disorders and aortopathies.
4. Develop strategies for promoting comprehensive women's cardiovascular health, encompassing prevention, early detection, and tailored treatment approaches.
