Substance Misuse and Opioid Use Disorders A National Problem - An Interprofessional Solution

These eight a-la-carte modules provide up to 8 hours of online educational content on substance misuse and opioid use disorders, led by an inter-professional and interdisciplinary team from across UVA and meet the requirements for opioid training for DEA license renewal under the Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act. This training is geared to all medical subspecialities, including pediatrics.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe best practices for the therapeutic management of major opioid use disorders for all patient populations.
  2. Identify current and emerging issues related to substance misuse behaviors and trends.
  3. Evaluate clinical decision resources and innovative practices to diagnose and treat patients with substance and opioid misuses.
  4. Develop competencies for systems-based practices, interprofessional work practices and practice-based learning to improve quality of care and enhance collaboration.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation requests received in writing no less than 30 days before the course will be refunded, less a 20% administrative fee. No refunds will be provided for cancellation requests received within 30 days or for registration fees of less than $50.  Please send cancellation requests [email protected].
