Overview
Cardiologists will review common questions on the subjects of Prevention and Detection of Coronary Artery Disease with special emphasis on changing landscape of managing lipids, emergence of AI in cardiology imaging and understanding the different roles for outpatient noninvasive testing. The course will also focus on the emergence of cardiology in the management and treatment of peripheral arterial disease and atrial fibrillation. Advancements in the field that are continuously evolving with patient criteria will be presented including the move to PCI in an outpatient ASC setting, and Transcatheter therapies for Congestive Heart Failure as well as the role of Cardiac MR in the diagnosis and treatment for HCM and Heart Failure.

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Understand what’s new in lipid-lowering therapy including the role and efficacy of PCSK9 inhibitors
  2. Discuss the role of Coronary CT Angiography (CTA) in primary prevention and the emerging role of Artificial Intelligence in CTA diagnostics and benefits to patients
  3. Review the noninvasive testing options for the detection of Coronary Artery Disease and the prevention of cardiac events.
  4. Understand Atrial Fibrillation treatment breakthroughs with Pulsed Field Ablation(PFA) and Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion vs Anticoagulation.
  5. Identify the optimal strategy for screening for Peripheral Arterial Disease(PAD)
  6. Understand and analyze therapeutic options for the management of PAD.
  7. Increase knowledge in the identification and treatment of chronic venous insufficiency.
  8. Discuss the future of Percutaneous Coronary Interventions in an outpatient setting.
  9. Review the most recent recommendation for management of Heart Failure and the role of the care team
  10. Discuss the evolving role of Cardiac MR and HCM in the management of Heart Failure.
  11. Review the latest evidence in percutaneous Mitral Valve Clip therapy for Heart Failure.
